Time-sensitive matters

Urgent Applications

When the timing of the next step matters.

An imminent transaction, concern about assets, dispute at the family home or threatened removal of a child may need prompt attention. The first task is to understand the facts, the timing and the relief that may be available.

An early assessment

Explain what has happened, when you became aware of it and what is expected to happen next. Etienne separates what is known from what still needs to be established, reviews the supporting material and considers whether urgent legal steps are appropriate.

Evidence and the appropriate relief

An interdict or other protective order is not automatic. The evidence and legal requirements must support the relief sought. Where an application is appropriate, Etienne assists with preparing the relevant papers and arranging the necessary legal process.

Connected family and property issues

Questions of occupation, access, safety or the preservation of assets may arise alongside broader proceedings. Etienne considers that context before advising on an agreement, interim relief or another appropriate response. A protection order must be considered on its own facts and requirements.

Make contact directly

Call +27 83 457 4370 and make the deadline clear. The practice aims to respond to new enquiries within one business day, but receipt of a message does not confirm availability, acceptance of an instruction or action before a deadline. For immediate danger, contact the police.

Useful questions

A little more clarity.

Does a pressing concern automatically qualify as a legally urgent matter?

No. The facts, evidence and applicable requirements must be assessed. Etienne will explain whether urgent court relief or another step may be appropriate.

Can I rely on the enquiry form for an immediate response?

No. Call directly about an approaching deadline. The form is not monitored as an emergency service and does not confirm that an instruction has been accepted.
